| Description | TOPS lab is seeking a qualified individual to perform web application development, database management, and data analysis for a transportation research safety data warehouse and online data access system. This system is being developed as a component of the TOPS Lab WisTransPortal Transportation Data Hub which is based on Java web technologies, Oracle database, and ESRI GIS components. An ideal candidate will have at least three years experience in Java application development. Familiarity with SQL / relational databases, JSP/Servlet/JSF web programming, and GIS is highly desirable. Familiarity with transportation data is also desirable. | Description | TOPS lab is seeking a qualified individual to fill a 15-month project position to develop system software to process real-time traffic incident data from the Wisconsin Sate Patrol Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. This software will feed an incident notification system at the WisDOT Statewide Traffic Operations Center (STOC) in Milwaukee and will archive data in the TOPS Lab WisTransPortal Transportation Data Hub for transportation research and planning applications. An ideal candidate will have at least three years experience in application development with Java and XML technologies. Familiarity with WSDL / web services, networking, SQL / relational databases, and GIS is highly desirable. Appointment Type: Academic Staff Applications must be received by September 14, 2007.
